The IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) at Government Degree College Kargil was established in 2016 as per National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) guidelines. The IQAC is functional with Principal as the Chairman, senior faculty members, student representative and external experts. The IQAC through regular annual meetings devise and implements action plans with active engagement of different committees and departments for quality improvement of various aspects of the institution.

Government Degree College Kargil was accredited by NAAC in 2019 for the first cycle. 

The primary aim of IQAC is

• To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.

​

• To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
