The Govt. Degree College Kargil has zero tolerance on ragging. Ragging is strictly banned on campus and can attract serious repercussions from the college administration.

Ragging is a criminal offence and is governed by the Anti-ragging code of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The University Grants Commission (UGC) in India has issued guidelines to prevent ragging in colleges and universities across the country. the anti-ragging policy of GDC Kargil based on UGC guidelines:

UGC defines ragging as any act of physical or mental abuse (including bullying and intimidation), sexual harassment, harmful behavior, or financial extortion directed towards new students. It also includes any act that prevents students from pursuing academic activities or disrupts the mental health and well-being of students.

1. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the campus of GDC Kargil. This prohibition extends to all students, staff, and faculty members.

   
   

2. Ragging is considered a criminal offense and is punishable under the Indian Penal Code. Students found guilty of ragging may face expulsion from the institution, suspension, fines, or imprisonment, depending on the severity of the offense.

   
   

3. The college has an Anti-Ragging Committee. The committees is responsible for preventing ragging incidents, conducting awareness programs, and taking prompt action against those found guilty of ragging.

   
   

4. The college conducts awareness programs on the consequences of ragging for both new students and existing students. These programs aim to create a safe and conducive learning environment for all.

   
   

5. Before the commencement of each academic year, students, as well as their parents or guardians, are required to sign an undertaking affirming that they are aware of the anti-ragging regulations and pledge not to engage in any form of ragging.
